LAKE BLED | BLED, SLOVENIA
At the beginning of April, we went to Bled, Slovenia. Bled is a small town with gorgeous scenery and an amazing lake in the middle of the town. Lake Bled is a glacier lake that has a small island in the middle with a church built on it.
We stayed at a hostel that was about a 10 minute walk from the lake. Actually, anywhere in town is about a 10 minute walk from the lake. After visiting Bled Castle, we decided to take a walk around the entire lake. It's not a huge lake, so it only took about 2 hours. Although, it would've probably taken less time if I weren't stopping every five minutes to take photos. :)
I loved this place, but it would've been better if it wasn't so cold! But just look how beautiful and romantic it looks, even in the winter. It's like a fairytale! Imagine what it looks like in the summer with greenery and blue skies (which, I've heard, aren't that common in Slovenia). Despite the cold weather, there were tons of people walking, jogging, and biking around the lake. I loved it.
Now I just need to plan to go back in the summer. Bled is near lots of swimming holes, waterfalls, hikes, and even cliffs to jump off. Can't wait! :)
