So. Last week, my whole family went on a trip to Puerto Rico to celebrate my parent's 30th wedding anniversary. There were 11 of us. Only the littlest didn't go (my nephew, age 2). Having 11 all in the same place was SO fun.
The first thing I got to do in Puerto Rico was stop at a roadside arepa stand. I was so happy! I love arepas. If you have never had them before, go look up a place to eat arepas in your city. SO worth it.
We arrived at the hotel at around twilight. We dumped our bags in our rooms, changed into our bathing suits, and ran out to the beach. It was pretty cloudy and was around dusk, but somehow this made the beach more serene and beautiful.
I took tons of photos while everyone else played around.
I'll get more photos of our Puerto Rico trip up on the blog soon. We did lotsa stuff! I can't wait to share it with you!
(By the way, this is about the fastest I've ever gotten a travel post up. Usually, I get them up around 6 months AFTER the vacation ended. I seriously have a list of around 50 places that I've been to, photographed, and documented that will be up on the blog at some point. When that will be, I don't know. So be proud of me for this one, guys. We just got back on Wednesday. That's 3 days turnaround time versus the 6 month norm. Go me!! )

Oh. And.
I shot these photos with a tilt-shift lens. My very first digital tilt-shift experience, y'all. I fell in love! I rented the Canon TS-E 45mm f/2.8 from LensProToGo (which I totally recommend, btw).
This was seriously the softest sand I have ever felt in my life. And I've been to A LOT of beaches, y'all.
Mark (the hubs) and my sister, Carley, being silly. They had already jumped in the water. Sidenote: they were the only ones that jumped in the water that night. It was kinda windy and the water was cold. Those crazies.
See? They crazy. I love 'em.
My brother (Corey) was very happy about this stick that he found.
That's my niece, Bri. She's so pretty.
Those crazies getting in the water again.
Bri and I ended up wading in. Yay! :)
Love those last ones. That's when the tilt-shift really worked it's magic! I love the details in these photos.

ReplyDeleteThese photos are so beautiful, it makes me miss the beach!
ReplyDeleteUhhh I didn't get to the beach this summer, and these photos make me regret that. How I would love to have some sand in my toes! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLooks like you and your fam were def. enjoying yourself.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, those last 4 shots of the waves and sand are gorgeous.
I am also that way, takes so much time before I can post travel photos but at least I post it. Well, you must have enjoyed the vacay and can't wait to post the photos.
ReplyDeleteHoly wow. So stunning.
ReplyDeletePuerto Rico has been on our "to do/ see/ go" for a while, and it just so happens that we haven't yet planned our annual trip for 2013. Puerto Rico just may be a big contender. Hope you don't mind if I pick your brain in the near term...
